As we are aware, Western Astrology usually involves a personal horoscope being written up to describe your traits, gifts, challenges, karma, general personality and what your life's purpose is. In addition to that, it is used to predict how energies around will affect you in the upcoming months or years. However, regardless of the kind of astrology that is used, free will should always be taken into consideration as nothing is ever set in stone. If any astrologer or psychic were to tell you that by "predicting the future", then my advice is to run. However, with Kabbalistic Astrology, there is a fundamental difference. In Kaballistic astrology, we are still given a blueprint of our life plan based on karmic issues from prior lives. But we are encouraged to rise above and to our very best based on what would best benefit our soul's growth. The North Node in Kabbalistic Astrology is extremely important to focus on in order to ignite soul growth. The North Node is called the "tikkun", an area where we can better ourselves by following our path that would fulfill our south growth.

In Kabbalastic Astrology, those traits, gifts, challenges, and other generalities are extremely important to examine in order to help us transform and fulfill what is indicated by the tikkun. However, unlike Western Astrology where it is believed that the signs and placements of planets govern are personality traits- the Zodiac and planet placements are actually the effect of our personality traits, not the cause. Past life karma, and everything else you had carried on from past lives is what determines our charts and our blueprints so we have the traits and attributes that will allow us to rectify and make transformations from negative activity that was created during past lives so our souls have the best opportunity to evolve.

Another difference between Kabbalistic Astrology and Western Astrology is that Western Astrology works with the Gregorian Calendar, and in Kabbalistic Astrology uses the Hebrew Calendar. Sure, the signs always will coincide with the months used for the Gregorian Calendar and for the Hebrew Calendar. However, there are meanings behind the months of the Hebrew Calendar which would correspond with the sign given.

I am not a Kabbalah master but I have studied Kabbalistic Astrology and use it in my readings in conjunction with Western Astrology. Especially the past life readings, where Kabbalistic Astrology reveals a lot about your past lives and the karma you are dealing with, and indicates how you can move beyond by working on your soul evolution.
