Medical Astrology

Medical Astrology is a type of astrology that deals with the functions of the human body. Bodily strengths and weaknesses, proneness to various illnesses, and nutritional deficiencies can be determined by an astrologer that is competent in medical astrology by analyzing the birth chart. If an actual illness has been diagnosed by a doctor, there are methods that can be used to determine the severity and duration of the illness. Medical astrology can be helpful when it comes to finding a good time period for an elective procedure such as getting a nose job or a tubal ligation (not when it comes to medical emergencies).

I am going to stress that MEDICAL ASTROLOGY IS NOT USED TO DIAGNOSE ANY KIND OF ILLNESS! The only type of individual that can diagnose an illness is a licensed medical doctor! Even a doctor who also happens to be a medical astrologer cannot diagnose an illness just by simply looking at a birth chart. The only thing that can be found in a birth chart is finding a tendency towards various types of illnesses. Periods of stress or lowered vitality when one COULD have health problems can also be seen.

However, if an actual illness HAS been diagnosed by a licensed medical doctor, the medical astrologer can determine severity and duration of the illness. If this happens to be the case, it is helpful to know the exact date (and time if possible) of when the illness was diagnosed. I use medical astrology in my natal and past life readings!

The Signs, Planets and Medical Astrology

Every sign relates to the body and below are the descriptions.

Aries- The head, brain, head related injuries, and can also relate to heat, fevers and inflammation.

Taurus- The throat, neck, thyroid, middle ear, gums, support and endurance of the body.

Gemini- Anything to do with connectivity and communication. It rules the general nervous system, lungs and tubal systems. Arms, hands, fingers and shoulders are also ruled by Gemini.

Cancer- Since Cancer is a protective and nurturing sign, it rules coverings and containers in the body such as the chest cavity, the stomach, the breasts, and the uterus. It also rules the mucous membranes.

Leo- Anything to do with vitality and energy. The muscular area of the heart, spine and middle back are ruled by Leo.

Virgo- It rules the small intestine, the pancreas, duodenum, and the enzyme production of the liver.

Libra- It rules the vasomotor system, the lower back, the glandular vascular part of the kidney and the skin as it relates cosmetically.

Scorpio- It rules the colon, bladder, the large intestine, rectum, genitals. Elimination is the key.

Sagittarius- It rules the hips and thighs, the sciatic nerve, and the liver.

Capricorn- It rules the skin and also rules the knees, hair, nails, teeth and cell walls. Anything hardening.

Aquarius- Anything to do with blood circulation and the oxidation processes in the body. It rules the lower leg, calf and ankles, and the valves of the heart. Rare illnesses and nervous ailments are ruled by Aquarius.

Pisces- It rules the feet and toes, the lymphatic system, and the spleen in its lymphatic role. It can also rule illnesses that are difficult to diagnose or cure.

The signs as you had read refers to the anatomical area of illness (or strength). However, the planets usually refer to the action of the body and its reaction to disease. And weak areas in your body can be found by looking at a planet involved in a hard aspect with another (square, opposition, quincunx, conjunction), and the signs they occupy.

If the Sun is afflicted, then it can result in inflammation, fever, lowered vitality and infection.

Afflictions to the Moon can result in mood or emotional disorders, altered body rhythm, allergies, female related disorders or water retention.

If Mercury is afflicted, it can indicate nervous disorders, respiratory disorders, or perhaps speech disorders. Sometimes hormonal disorders can be determined.

Venus afflicted can indicate blood sugar imbalance, problems with the venous circulation, and a lack of tone or an imbalance of bodily energies.

Afflictions to Mars are similar to afflictions to the Sun. The differences is, wounds, acidosis, burns, surgery, sudden illness, and muscular disorders can be determined if Mars is afflicted.

If Jupiter is afflicted, then obesity, difficulty in fat assimilation or problems with the function of the liver, illness caused my excess or arterial blood circulation disorders can be found.

Afflictions to Saturn can indicate chronic disease, hardening, crystallization, organ that is not active the way it should, or skin disorders.

Uranus afflictions can indicate sudden illness, spasms, stress-related illnesses, heart palpitations or accidents.

Neptune afflictions can result in poisoning, drug or alcohol addiction, lowered immune system, drug sensitivity, misdiagnosis or hidden illness.

Pluto afflictions can indicate malformations, massive and bacterial infections.
