The roots of numerology date back thousands of years. Plenty of variations of it can be found in most cultures throughout history. Even though many people do not believe it is a real science, it has been taught and studied by some of the most renowned mathematicians throughout history.
The purpose of numerology is to also help you understand your path, purpose, karma, strengths and lessons. It analyzes and uses the combinations of the letters in your name and your date of birth to give some understanding to your character, strengths and weaknesses, natural talents, motivations and life purpose. You can take the information given to you by numerology and use it to help you understand yourself better.
There are different types of numerology that is used in different areas in the world. The types range from Ki, which is an ancient Japanese numerology based on patterns in the birthdate, to the Hebrew Kabbalah, to a system in Africa that uses numbers for divination purposes. However in the west the most popular systems are the Pythagorean and Chaldean systems. Those I will be focusing on more.
Here is a table below which shows the letters assigned with their numbers.
1- A,J, S
2- B, K (11), T
3- C, L, U
4- D, M, V (22)
5- E, N, W
6- F, O, X
7- G, P, Y
8- H, Q, Z
9- I, R
Chaldean numerology, sometimes known as "Mystic Numerology", is probably the oldest system of numerology known. It originated in Babylonia at the mouth of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers near the Persian Gulf. In Chaldean numerology, the numbers assigned to the letters are not determined by alphabetical order, but instead by the vibration of each specific letter. It differs from Pythagorean numerology in that it does not assign the number 9 to any letter, although 9 can occur as the final sum. The reason 9 is separated is because it is considered to be holy and sacred. Chaldean numerology analyzes both name and date of birth. Rather than analyzing your birth name, however, Chaldean numerology analyses the name you are most commonly known by. The Chaldean system is more accurate than the Pythagorean system but less popular. It happens to be more difficult to master.
Each number is assigned a value on vibration- here is a table below to indicate that.
1-A, I, J, Q, Y
2-B, K, R
3-C, G, L, S
4-D, L, J, M, T
5-E, H, N, X
6-N,J, U, V, W
7-O, Z
8-F, P
I will give you a brief description of what some of the numbers mean. I also associate them to their corresponding planet and element. 1- initiation, originality, ego, self- associated with the Sun and with fire.
2- intuition, emotion- associated with the Moon and with water.
3- creativity, joy, expansion- associated with Jupiter and with air.
4- order, structure, material, routine- associated wit Uranus (which I know is odd considering Uranus is anything but that, but in the end STRIVES for it) and with earth. It is also a very karmic number.
5- travel, knowledge, intelligence, change- associated with Mercury and fire.
6- nurturing, responsibility, care- associated with Venus and water.
7- spiritual knowledge, solitude, spiritual study- associated with Neptune and air.
8- power (use it properly), structure, material, karma (could be either good or disastrous)- associated with Saturn and earth.
9- energy, passion, sudden changes- associated with Mars and fire.
11/2 is the most intuitive number of all. It is the higher octave of 2 and represents illumination, enlightenment, and channel to subconscious. There is no rational thought with this number. In fact there is a lot of nervous energy associated with 11. There is no question that the energies are quite intense and rough. It is born with inner duality and is known to cause inner conflict and dynamism. And if the focus is lost, it can retreat inward and create fear, treachery and destruction. Acceptance of spiritual understanding, truth and intuition is what is needed for there to be any growth.
Now I will get into 22/4. This number is the master builder and can turn dreams into reality. In fact it is the most successful of all numbers. The 22 possesses the insights of 11 and the practical nature of 4. It definitely has some huge ideas, large dreams and lots of leadership qualities. However if the energies are misused, it can crumble down to the negative traits of 4 and lose ambition. The potential that this number has will be lost as a result.
Now to 33/6. The most influential of all numbers and sometimes called "The Master Teacher". When this number is at its fullest, it forgets about itself and only cares for the world's well being. In fact it only focuses its amazing abilities toward the spiritual revolution of man. The 6 as you know represents nurturing, and the 33 represents spiritual nurturing and care. However if the energies are misused, then it becomes a resentful martyr. If a child possesses a Master Number, the child will express the lower octave because the energies are too intense for them to handle. This can cause them trouble in their childhood quite frequently. However as they age and gain knowledge and understanding, they will become closer to the point in their lives where they can fully utilize their power.
